Yes, ok, this show is all that and a packet of crisps. It's fast, it's clever, it looks good, the dialogue flows, I watched two episodes without noticing time passing and it's not offensive on any of the nineteen thousand ways television usually managed to offend in within four and a half minutes...but I have to admit nothing has really hooked me either. Who are these people, and what is there to them that I should care about? Bizarrely, I'm currently most curious about how Paul is doing.

I identify with few of the characters on a demographic level, and that took me a bit to absorb, but I like it. I like how the story is unfurling into something progressively more complicated.

So far, that is. Heh.

having watched all four episodes, and the promo for five...i'm intrigued but slightly wearied at the same time. It's like...let it breathe a moment. I like more complexity, but complexity and irritating tangled complicatedness is not quite the same thing.

That was my experience of Lost. Guess I'll see for Orphan Black.

Definitely. I hate to see another interesting show tumble into Lostness, but i'm worried that that's exactly where it's going. The conspiracy will just keep growing and growing, but there will never be any chance for a stretch of solid, linear storytelling to make me care about the characters.
